A humanitarian, actor and director, Antonio Banderas continues to enjoy a wonderful career on the screen and off. After his performance in the 1993 hit drama “Philadelphia,” Tom Hanks referred to Banderas as the most generous actor he had ever worked with.

Amy Grant

The cross-over queen, Amy Grant brought contemporary pop to the contemporary gospel/Christian sound, and vice versa in the 1990s. She still enjoys a strong following to this day. She was the center of controversy within her professional community when she and first husband, Gary Chapman divorced. She is presently married to Vince Gill, and still writing and performing music.

Cal Ripken, Jr.

A sure-pick on any top 10 list of celebrities born in 1960, Cal Ripken, Jr. is baseball's Iron-Man, playing in 2,632 consecutive baseball games. No days off for over 16 consecutive seasons. Ripken voluntarily removed his name from the line-up on the final game of the 1998 MLB season, feeling that it was time. The scene that followed was one of baseball's greatest moments. Ripken now dedicates his professional life to teaching baseball with his brother Bill Ripken, another former big leaguer.

Damon Wayans

The Wayans family has done wonderful things for African Americans in entertainment, and introduced the world to iconoclast cult-films and characters. Damon has done everything from the big screen to the small screen and more than a few live, stand up performances. He created many comedic characters on the 90s hit show, “In Living Color,” including Homey the Clown, and The Head Detective.

Erin Brockovich-Ellis

Julia Roberts' portrayal of Erin Brockovich-Ellis introduced the world to the real woman, and some of the real issues Erin Brockovich tackled as a paralegal. This Lawrence, Kansas, native is a true activist in every sense of the word, fighting for justice for those who can't fight for themselves.

Diego Maradona

Considered by many to be one of the greatest soccer players to ever step on a field, Diego Maradona most famous for the goal-shot considered “The Hand of God.” In the 1986 World Cup, Maradona scored on an illegal hand strike, leading the Argentine National Team to the World Cup victory.

Bono

Perhaps one of the most recognizable faces in the world, Bono, or Paul David Hewson, is the lead singer of one of the world's premier rock bands, U2. He is also a political and human rights activist. Bono has co-founded many grassroots organizations to bring awareness to world issues, and is presently out-spoken for his ONE Campaign: An apolitical movement set forth to gain more relief aid for developing countries, from world governments and private citizens.

Jane Lynch

Not all celebrities hit big when they're in their 20s. Such is the case for the funny-lady, Jane Lynch. An incredible improvisation artist, Lynch has become well known for her roles in films such as “The 40 Year Old Virgin,” “Best in Show,” “Role Models” and the hit TV series, “Glee.” She recently showcased her versatility in the Oscar-buzzed, “Julie and Julia.”
